Waiting on Wednesday: Shutter by Courtney Alameda

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that were eagerly anticipating.

This weeks book that I'm desperate to get my hands on:

Shutter by Courtney Alameda

Publication: February 3, 2015

Genre: YA, Paranormal, Fantasy, Thriller, Horror, Romance

Goodreads Summary

Horror has a new name: introducing Courtney Alameda.

Micheline Helsing is a tetrachromat—a girl who sees the auras of the undead in a prismatic spectrum. As one of the last descendants of the Van Helsing lineage, she has trained since childhood to destroy monsters both corporeal and spiritual: the corporeal undead go down by the bullet, the spiritual undead by the lens. With an analog SLR camera as her best weapon, Micheline exorcises ghosts by capturing their spiritual energy on film. She's aided by her crew: Oliver, a techno-whiz and the boy who developed her camera's technology; Jude, who can predict death; and Ryder, the boy Micheline has known and loved forever.

When a routine ghost hunt goes awry, Micheline and the boys are infected with a curse known as a soulchain. As the ghostly chains spread through their bodies, Micheline learns that if she doesn't exorcise her entity in seven days or less, she and her friends will die. Now pursued as a renegade agent by her monster-hunting father, Leonard Helsing, she must track and destroy an entity more powerful than anything she's faced before . . . or die trying.

Lock, stock, and lens, she’s in for one hell of a week.

Why I'm desperate for Shutter:

I'll admit the cover is a bit creepy but I love it! Now normally I don't read horror books because well I'm a scaredy cat. ( Liar you've read horror books! You're a scaredy cat but you love scaring the crap out of yourself even though you get mini heart attacks!) Okay. Okay.  I have read other horror books but not whole  lot.  Call me crazy but this book seems like its going to be amazeballs and I'm not one for letting a book go just because of a teensy weensy fear I have.  I'm super duper excited and I don't even have the book in my hands yet! I love the main characters name Micheline.  (Though I'm not even sure how to pronounce it. Maybe Michelle or Micheleene. Aah I don't know.)

Anywho. What books are you desperate to get your hands on? Leave a comment with your link of WoW and I promise to check it out and fangirl over your books with you as well! Thanks for stopping by!

Do you have any suggestions? I miss obsessing :( Shutter seems good though! I am just like you I am scared to read, but I read it anyway!

    1. I'm sure you're not the only one, so don't worry! As for suggestions I would suggest looking at this list of 2015 debut novels maybe some of these books will make you obsess I know they made me! Here's the list----> https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/36218._YA_Debuts_2015#20345202
Apart from goodreads I also follow a lot of other blogs and some authors and they update me on books that are coming out and of course that's how my obsession begins. Do you follow any authors? You definitely should. There's a lot of ways you can find books to obsess about but so far these are the only ways I know. Good Luck!
