My Review
I, Mary is about a young girl who loves the sea and wishes to become a sailor but during this time woman aren't able to do so. Although, that doesn't stop her from trying, especially with the help of her parents who know just how much she loves and dreams of sailing. They decide to let her prove herself and she doesn't hesitate to agree and that is where her journey begins.
Mary becomes a member of a ship that puts her to the test to see if she's as earnest and capable as any other man on the ship and she surprisingly hold's her own against the men on the ship. Which makes the captain quite proud and fond of her. Mary isn't one to be taken lightly, she may be small and a girl but she's brave and courageous and I liked that about her. Mary struggles through quite a lot and nothing ever goes easy for her but that just made me proud of her as well.Whether it came to sailing the sea or falling in love, she took it head on without giving in.
This book took me on quite the adventure and I enjoyed every minute of it! The romance between Mary and Andrew wasn't half bad either although it did feel like it happened very quickly. But other than that this book was enjoyable and if you're looking for an adventure with likable character's then I suggest you check it out! Just make sure to start with the first book I, Walter!
